What is Mastery Challenge?
Mastery Challenge is a special late-game Puzzle event for players who have completed all standard Match 3 Puzzle levels currently available in Merge Gardens.
After you reach the end of the available standard Puzzle content, you can enter the Mastery Levels and take part in the Mastery Challenge. In this event, you replay selected Puzzle levels, compete against other players, climb the leaderboard, and earn rewards based on your progress.
How do I unlock Mastery Challenge?
You unlock Mastery Challenge after completing all standard Puzzle levels that are currently available in the game.
Before you unlock it, you may already notice the Mastery Statue in your Home Garden, right next to Richard's stall. If you tap it before Mastery Challenge is available to you, it will give you more information and encourage you to continue progressing through the regular Puzzle levels first.
If you reach the Mastery Levels but Mastery Challenge is not available right away, please stay tuned. This usually means that new Puzzle Levels will be released soon, or that Mastery Challenge is not active at that time. Please check back again over the next few days.
What changes when Mastery Challenge becomes available?
Once you unlock it, your Puzzle Levels mode changes. Instead of the normal Play button, you will see the Mastery Challenge button decorated with golden laurel leaves. This shows that you have reached the Mastery Levels and can now join the event.
You will also be able to use the Mastery Statue as part of the feature. When the event is active, tapping the statue opens the Mastery Challenge information and leaderboard so you can check your standing, points, and available rewards. You can also check the Mastery Challenge progress by tapping its icon at the top of the screen.
How does the event work?
To participate in the Challenge, hit the "Play" button in its introduction screen. Keep in mind that your 1 hour of Unlimited Energy will start counting down in that moment. If you haven't created a profile for your garden so far, you will get a chance to do it before joining the event.
In the Mastery Challenge, you compete with other players by completing as many Mastery Puzzles as possible during the event. As you continue clearing Puzzles, you improve your ranking and move closer to the top of the leaderboard.
Normal Puzzle levels award between 1 and 3 Mastery Challenge Points, while Hard and Super Hard levels give you a bigger boost of 5 Points. You can always preview the Points at the top of the Puzzle briefing screen before you begin:
How long does Mastery Challenge last?
Mastery Challenge usually lasts 7 days once you choose to participate. During that time, you can keep playing to improve your rank and work toward better rewards.
Sometimes you may see a shorter version of the event. This can happen when new standard Puzzle levels are expected to be released soon.
You can always see how much time you have left of the event on its icon and information screen.
How do I check my rank and rewards?
If Mastery Challenge is active, tap the Mastery Statue or the Event Icon in your Home Garden to open the event. There you can check your current rank, see your available points, and review the rewards connected to the leaderboard (you can do so by tapping the little question mark next to the reward in the Leaderboard view):
Make sure to claim your rewards before they expire.
Please keep in mind that once new Puzzle Levels are released, Mastery Challenge will become unavailable for you - you will need to complete all the newly released Puzzle Levels to unlock Mastery Challenge again.
