How to complete the Event and earn rewards

In this Event, you will not have any Wildlife creatures to help you in your Garden as in many other Events. Instead, you will rely on charged items that you can tap for various other items that will help you in earning Event points and opening more land. The key to this Event is to create Fishing Rods that are used to catch Fish and earn Fishing Trophies that you can tap for Event points.

Start the event by merging the 2 free Pondweed items with the 3 that are in the unhealed land and then give the Lost Goggles items to unlock the next plot of land:

There are a few different item chains that you'll find in this Event:

• Fishing Tools: Found from Fishing Truck or in the land. Merge them to create Fishing Boxes that are tapped for Fishing Rod items.
• Fishing Rod: The final stage of this chain can be tapped for Pondweed and a chance to catch 1 of 7 different Fish species. Find these from Fishing Boxes (the charged items in the Fishing Tools chain) and in the land. The Fishing Rod will disappear once you've tapped it enough times.
• Waterweed: Found from the land or from tapping Fishing Rods, Sunken Lanterns, or Sunken Chests. The Sunken Chest can be tapped for more Pondweed items or a chance for a Small Perch.
• Fishing Lures: Found from the land and from tapping Fish items. Tap the Master Lure for Pondweed and a chance for a Small Perch.
• Metal Junk: You have a chance of obtaining these items instead of a Fish when tapping Fishing Rods and they can also be found throughout the land. The Sunken Lantern can be tapped for Pondweed and a chance of getting a Small Perch.
• Fishing Awards: You can tap the 3rd and final item in this item chain for Event points to earn rewards. These can be found throughout the land or by tapping the various Fish items that you catch.
• Fish: There are 7 different types of Fish that you can catch. You can find them by tapping Fishing Rods, Sunken Chests and Sunken Lanterns. Sunken Chests and Sunken Lanterns only provide 1 species (Small Perch); the rest must be obtained from Fishing Rods. When you catch a new type of Fish, it will be added to your Richard's Gilled Gathering view. You can tap these items several times for items such as Fishing Awards and Fishing Batteries. Once you've tapped it to release the items, save it to merge further in order to fill up your Fish collection view and earn more rewards in that extra Event.

You may also want to pay special attention to the Event Quests which can be found on the left side of your game screen. Upon completing a Quest, you will receive a specific item in your Event Garden that can help you progress in the Event. You can see the rewards for each Quest by tapping on the Quest square.

If you complete all 21 Quests, you will receive a special reward in your Home Garden!

When the bar around the Event icon completes the full circle, you'll receive the next reward. You can also track your progress more closely by tapping the Event Icon at the top of the screen. The amount of Event points needed to reach the next reward is shown under the image of Daisy on the left side of this view. 

TIP: As always, merging in multiples of 5 is the key! If you have a lot of items to merge and don't want to spend time counting, then go to the game settings and turn on the merge counter.

When you receive a reward it will be sent to your Home Garden. Just tap home to go back and see it; it will be bubbled in the middle of your Garden. 

You can get to the Event Garden by selecting its icon from your Home Garden at the top of your screen:

You can get back to your Home Garden by tapping the "Home" icon in the bottom right corner of the Event Garden screen:

How to heal the Evergrowth and open land

To heal the Evergrowth and free up more land in this Event, you will need to merge the items that you receive from tapping charged items, such as the Fishing Truck, with the similar items that are trapped by the Evergrowth, like so:

Remember, merge items in groups of 5 in order to receive a bonus item and progress in the Event more quickly!

How to use & buy Energy

In order to tap certain items such as Fishing Boxes and Fishing Rods, you will need to use Energy. The items that require Energy will have a lightning bolt icon on top of them. After tapping these items several times, they can run out of charges. When you attempt to tap the item again, you will see a pop-up like this:

You can either recharge that item immediately using gems or you can wait for the next charge which will appear after the timer in the pop-up has counted down.

When you catch a Fish and tap it to use its charges, it will not recharge again after that. Instead, you can then save the Fish to merge it with other similar Fish that you catch in order to create all 3 stages of each Fish type and fill Richard's Gilled Gathering board.

You can also see the amount of Energy you have at the moment as well as the amount of time left to gain 1 more Energy in the top left corner of the screen:

If you run out of Energy, you will see an Out of Energy pop-up when you try to use your Energy:

If you'd like, you can refill your Energy immediately using gems or you can wait for your Energy to refill while you head back to your Home Garden to complete tasks there! You can also purchase more Energy by tapping on your Energy bar at the top left corner of the screen.

Catching Fish & earning extra rewards in Richard’s Gilled Gathering

In addition to the main Event, there is also a related extra event: Richard's Gilled Gathering.

You can earn more rewards from this extra event by catching and collecting Fish in the Reel Mysteries Event Garden!

You can access this Event view by tapping on its icon at the top of the screen while in the Reel Mysteries Event Garden:

After tapping the icon, you will see your Fish collection view:

As you catch Fish in the Reel Mysteries event by tapping Fishing Rods and Sunken Chests, they will appear in this view when you've caught a new species for the first time. The more spots that are filled in this view, the more Event points that you will earn.

When you've caught a species on the bottom row, you can continue to catch Fish of that species to merge them to fill the middle and top rows. There are 3 stages to each Fish species.

Catch or create all 3 stages of each of the 7 species in order to complete this Event and earn all of the rewards!

Other points to note:  

- The Event specific items, for example the Fishing Rod items, are not available in the Home Garden.

- If you're looking for extra rewards, check out the Event Ticket or Garden Quest tasks! These are not required to complete the main Event task. Garden Quests can help you out in reaching your Event point goals, but completing all of them can be very challenging or may require acquiring additional items in the Event Garden's Shop.

- Check out the in-game offers during the Event! These can help give you a boost. Please note though that some items included in the offer may appear in your Home Garden instead of the Event Garden; pay attention to the offer pop-up as each item's destination is displayed there.

- If you're running out of time and you want to boost your Event progress, you can check out the Shop in the Event Garden. It includes various items that can be helpful while completing the Event; you can purchase them in exchange for gems.
